Connecting your store

What it is

Voorcast works from your own data. It reads your products, stock, suppliers, orders and purchase orders from Picqer, and when you send a purchase draft, it creates the purchase order in Picqer for you. That makes Picqer required: without it there is nothing to forecast from and nowhere to send an order.

Magento 2 is optional. If you sell through Magento, Voorcast can also read its products and orders, alongside Picqer.

When you'd use it

  • You've just signed up. Connecting Picqer is the first step of the Get started checklist on your Home.
  • Your Picqer API key has changed, or you've moved to a new Picqer address.
  • You also sell through Magento and want its orders counted.

How to set it up

Picqer

  1. In Picqer, go to Settings → API Keys, click New API key, name it "Voorcast" and copy the key.
  2. In Voorcast, open Settings and choose Integrations under Data & Integrations.
  3. On the Picqer card, click Configure.
  4. In API Base URL, enter your Picqer address in full, including https://, for example https://yourcompany.picqer.com.
  5. Paste the key into API Key.
  6. Make sure Enable Integration is on. Click Test Connection, then Save Configuration.

Once the connection checks out, Voorcast sets up live updates from Picqer and starts your first sync. The card shows its progress, and the Get started checklist says when the sync is running.

Magento 2

  1. In Magento Admin, go to System → Extensions → Integrations and click Add New Integration. Name it "Voorcast".
  2. Under API, give it access to Catalog, Sales, Customers and Stores → Taxes → Tax Rules. The tax rules let Voorcast read your VAT rates for its price figures; without them the sync still runs, but those rates aren't updated.
  3. Save, click Activate, and copy the Access Token.
  4. In Voorcast, on the Magento 2 card, click Configure.
  5. Enter your store's address in API Base URL, for example https://your-store.com, and paste the token into API Access Token.
  6. Leave Store Code empty unless you use a store view other than the default. Set Timestamp Timezone to the timezone your Magento server uses.
  7. Click Test Connection, then Save Configuration.

Good to know

  • Only admins and owners can connect or change an integration. Other members see Configure greyed out.
  • The first sync can take several minutes. Your products and sales fill in when it finishes.
  • After that, Picqer tells Voorcast about changes as they happen, and every organisation also gets a full sync overnight. Magento has no live updates, so its data catches up at the next sync.
  • Magento data syncs together with Picqer, so Magento on its own isn't enough to get started.
  • To keep the saved key when you change something else, leave the key field empty. If you change the address, enter the key again.
  • Switching Enable Integration off makes Voorcast stop using that connection.
